Commissioning a piece of work is a unique collaboration between the artist and the client/collector. Whether you have a well thought out concept, an initial idea, or perhaps you really like a previously sold painting of mine, a commission can let you obtain an original piece of artwork that is unique to you.

The Commission Process

• An initial consultation via email will explore the idea, subject, style, size, and your location (for shipping cost calculation). Once those details are discussed, this will allow for a preliminary estimate to be given.

• I build my own canvases so there is really no limit on sizing. The size can be completely customized to fit your needs.

• Custom framing for the artwork is available. currently I only offer ‘floater frame’ style framing. The frame can be customized by a variety of wood types, stains, and colors. (The most common and cheapest option I use on most of my personal works is a softwood frame with either a dark walnut stain or a light white wash). This option will be discussed in the preliminary consultation.

• Once agreed upon on the preliminary estimate, concept sketches and mockups will be provided to really pin down the vision. These will also provide an idea of how the finished piece will look like. Once a concept is finalized, a timeline and payment schedule is determined.

• A 50% deposit is required before any work can begin.

• Upon completion, photos will be sent for your approval. Small changes can still be made at this point at no charge. Bigger changes to the painting can be made for an additional cost. The remaining balance will be collected before the work can be shipped.

• The piece will be shipped usually within 3 business days. Tracking number will be provided once shipped.
